Applications Now Open for the Second Round of the Seoul Garden Traveler Program
Seoul is inviting foreign residents and visitors to take part in a unique cultural program that offers a chance to experience the charm and tranquility of traditional Korean gardens. Titled “Traveling Stone in the Garden,” this hands-on event is part of the Seoul Garden Traveler initiative and is currently accepting applications for its second round of sessions in 2025.
The program encourages participants to relax and enjoy a peaceful moment in nature. Visitors will take part in casual conversations, sip traditional tea, and create a personalized “Traveling Stone” — a symbolic item that reflects their own story and experience in the garden. This creative activity offers a meaningful way to connect with Korean culture while enjoying a serene outdoor setting.
The program will take place around Boramae Park in Seoul from September 5th to 7th, and again from September 12th to 14th, 2025, with three sessions available each day at 1 P.M., 2:45 P.M., and 4:30 P.M. An additional morning session will be held on September 8th at 10:30 A.M. Each session will last approximately 50 minutes, though the duration may vary depending on the pace of the program. Please note that on September 13th and 14th, only two sessions will be held per day.
Participation is free of charge, but spaces are limited to 10 people per session. The program is open to foreigners currently living in or visiting Seoul. While the program is intended for adults, children born before 2015 (upper elementary school or older) and teenagers may participate if accompanied by a parent. Children born in or after 2016 are not eligible to join.
Applications will be accepted until September 14th, 2025, on a first-come, first-served basis. Selected participants will be contacted individually with details regarding their chosen session.
