Dongguk University will hold the Foreign Hackathon Day from November 10th to 12th, 2025, at the EEGEE Lab MakerSpace located on the 4th floor of the Central Library. The three-day event, organized under the university’s Dareum initiative, aims to help international and Korean students develop creative problem-solving skills and digital manufacturing capabilities for future global talent cultivation.
The hackathon welcomes currently enrolled international students and faculty members of Dongguk University, as well as mixed teams of Korean and international university students. Participants will work together to experience idea materialization and innovative culture using the MakerSpace, while also gaining opportunities to understand and experience the Korean startup ecosystem.
The program begins on Monday, November 10th, fron 2 P.M. to 8 P.M., with participants presenting their ideas and forming teams. On Tuesday, November 11th from 10 A.M. to 7 P.M., teams will receive mentoring support in product planning and development and work on team-based MVP (Minimum Viable Product) creation. The event will conclude on Wednesday, November 12th from 10 A.M. to 6 P.M., featuring final team presentations, an awards ceremony, and a group photo session. The venue will be open only during business hours, and access will be restricted outside these times.
Participants will receive various benefits. All attendees will be given a T-shirt, and free VISA consultation support will be available through the Global Service Center (GSC). Winning teams planning to start a business will receive incorporate support and a total prize pool of up to 2,000,000 won. The Grand Prize includes a gift certificate worth 1,000,000 won and eligibility to participate in the Global Startup Center Hackathon, while the Excellence Award and Merit Award each include a gift certificate worth 500,000 won.
All participants will receive a Certificate of Completion, and winning teams will be offered post-program support such as incorporation mentoring, business model consulting, and IR (Investor Relations) pitching opportunities. Through multinational team formation and collaboration, participants will be able to enhance their practical skills and experience Korea’s vibrant startup culture firsthand.
