We are recruiting participants for the RUC International Summer School program, which will be hosted by Renmin University of China (RUC) in the summer of 2025. This program offers a unique opportunity to simultaneously foster academic growth and gain global experience, and it is open to students from various majors. Participants will have the chance to expand their understanding of Chinese culture and academics through their courses, as well as form valuable global networks.
The RUC International Summer School program will run from June 30th to July 18th, 2025, and offers courses where students can choose up to two subjects. Through this program, students will have the opportunity to learn about Chinese society, economy, and culture through diverse courses provided by Renmin University of China. It will be a great opportunity for academic achievement while experiencing Chinese culture in depth.
Participants will receive a full tuition waiver; however, they will need to pay a registration fee of 800 RMB. Additionally, the cost of round-trip airfare, accommodation, and weekend tour expenses will be borne by the participants. The accommodation fee is 140 RMB per day for a single room, and between 60 to 120 RMB for a double room, depending on the type. Weekend tours to famous cultural landmarks in Beijing will also be provided at an additional cost.
A total of two students will be selected for this program, and they will receive a full tuition waiver. Any additional students who wish to participate will need to pay the tuition fee themselves. To be eligible, applicants must be undergraduate students at our university. There are no restrictions on majors. Applicants must have completed at least two semesters with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Additionally, a valid language proficiency score is required, such as TOEIC 850, TOEFL 79, or IELTS 6.0 or higher.
Students who wish to apply for this program must complete their applications by 10:00 A.M. on March 12th 2025. The application process involves submitting an application form through the ndrims system and sending the completed application form and study plan via email. Only those who complete all the application procedures will have their applications processed. Applications should be sent to incoming2@dongguk.edu.
The recognition of credits will be determined by the student's department, and the credits may be granted as seasonal credits (P). However, please note that credit recognition is not guaranteed.
If the number of applicants exceeds the selection quota, the selection will be based on document review and an interview (either in person or online). If the number of applicants does not exceed the selection quota, all eligible applicants will be accepted based on the evaluation of their application documents.
