On July 8 at 2 p.m., a scholarship ceremony was held for the 'Together with Nature' Buddhist Club of the College of Natural Science. The ceremony, which took place in the main building's Foundation Committee conference room, was attended by Chairman Don Kwan, President Yun Jae-woong, Shingyeong sunim of Tongdosa, and 10 students from the College's Buddhist club, 'Together with Nature'. Tongdosa Temple is located in Yangsan City and is the temple of the Buddha's Sarria, which symbolize one of the three treasures of Buddhism. In his welcoming remarks, Chairman Don Guan said that Tongdosa should be remembered as the temple that provided the most financial support for the foundation of Dongguk University, and that he was pleased to be associated with the program for the first time and encouraged the scholarship students to visit Tongdosa. In his congratulatory speech, President Yun said that many alumni who have passed through Dongguk University in its 118-year history and many Buddhists and monks across the country will be cheering for the scholarship students, and he hoped that they would remember that the scholarships mean that they should pursue their studies and become excellent people.

One of the scholarship recipients, Park Young-jun (Division of Physics, semiconductor science, 20), said that those who choose to follow Buddhism should always remember to be grateful for everything and live with a grateful heart. He added that the scholarship will help him ease his financial burden and help him pursue his studies and Buddhist practice. Baek Hee-soo (Department of Chemistry, 22) said that the meaning of the scholarship goes beyond financial support to an expression of encouragement in her studies and the trust, and that the scholarship will be a great help to her in pursuing her studies and practicing Buddhist teachings.

At 4 p.m. on the same day, a scholarship ceremony was also held for Garam Suho, the Buddhist Club of the College of Buddhist Studies.
