[463 Round-up] The Lotus Lantern Festival Was Held

   The Lotus Lantern Festival was held on May 11th to commemorate the Buddha’s birthday (May 15th). Lotus Lantern Festival is a traditional festival that has been around for about 1,200 years since the Unified Silla Dynasty and is a UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage Site in 2020. Starting with the Lotus Lantern Law, which marks the opening of the 2024 Lotus Lantern Festival at Dongguk University Stadium, the Lotus Lantern Procession passed through Dongdaemun in Seoul and continued to Jogyesa Temple. The theme of this year’s Lotus Lantern Procession was “The Compilation of Minds, the World of Buddha.”
