Buddhist Light Cultural Festival has been being held. The festival, which features a variety of interactive content, is divided into five parts. First is the lantern making part. The event, which runs until May 10, is open to all Donggukians, and participants can make lanterns at the lantern workshop located on the second floor of the Dahyang Hall and Paljeong-do. Participants will receive a coffee coupon for the on-campus cafe and instant cup rice noodles for one additional lantern you make. Next is the walking and lantern procession part. There will be a certification event for participation in the group team parade. Groups such as departments, student councils, clubs, and divisions with 30 members, including student faculty, are eligible. Participants must submit a list of participants by May 10, make a team lantern at the lantern workshop, and participate in the lantern procession on May 11. Take a group photo with the lanterns in front of Jogyesa Temple and submit the photo to the Founding Spirit Committee Secretariat on Seoul Campus.

   Next is the memorizing part. Reels & Shorts Contest. This is a contest for students to create a challenge video with the campus lanterns as a backdrop and upload it to YouTube or Instagram in short form by May 17th. Winners will be selected based on likes, views, and judges' ratings, and will receive a scholarship of 500,000 won. Next up is the video contest. You can participate in the video contest by uploading a vlog, field sketch, or any other video on any topic to YouTube. The videos can be 5 to 10 minutes long and will be judged by a panel of judges and awarded 1 million won in scholarships.

   Next part is the picnic of Ako. Held from the 7th to the 10th, the event is held in Paljeong-do, where you can make lanterns on the mats provided. Finally, there's the Yadanbeopseok of Ako. From the 9th to the 10th, there will be yoga and body scans, meditation, mindfulness, and new beginnings meditation programs at the Plajeong-do. Participants in these programs will also receive gift packages. There will also be a four-color talk concert. The talk concert will be held at 3 p.m. on the 10th, featuring talks by four religious’ clergy on the topic of solving problems and healing.
