Dongguk University (DU) is planning exchanges with foreign universities in China, Japan and Taiwan. On Sept. 14, DU will establish sister-school relations with Tianjin Univ. in China on condition of guaranteeing academic exchange for five years. On Sept. 16, a formal Agreement Proposal will be exchanged between DU and Beijing Univ. of Chinese Medicine (BU). Exchanging Agreement Proposal is preliminary step in sister-school relations. The results of temporary exchange for two or three years determines whether DU will sign sister-school ties with BU.If these agreements are concluded, DU will have relationships with 48 universities in 15 nations. Won Chung-hee, an associate director of the Office of International Relations said, "These plans are an extension of our policy of diversifying DU's exchange field."Meanwhile, President Song Suk-gu will attend the 50th anniversary ceremony of The Central Academy of Drama (CA) on Sept. 15. Exchange in the drama field between DU and CA has continued since 1994."His visit will increase cooperation between the two universities,"  said the associate director.To promote DU's many relationships, the school will select exchange students within this month. Two or three students will be sent to each of the eight sister universities in Japan, China and Taiwan.
