[Notice] 2026-1 Semester Samsung Dream Scholarship Foundation Global Hope Scholars (Undergraduate/Graduate) Selection

   The Samsung Dream Scholarship Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2026 Spring Global Hope Scholarship, a program supporting outstanding undergraduate and graduate students from developing countries who are studying in Korea. The Foundation selects scholars from students recommended by partner universities, with a limit of two students per nationality from each institution to ensure diversity.

   To be eligible, applicants must be from a country listed on the DAC List of ODA Recipients, demonstrate financial need, and show strong academic performance, including language proficiency. A minimum of TOPIK Level 2 is required. Applicants must also show commitment to community service, willingness to participate in Foundation programs, and clear intent to return to their home country after graduation to contribute to its development. Ethnic Koreans from DAC-listed countries, GKS Scholarship recipients, and students who have completed at least one semester of primary, middle, or high school in Korea are not eligible.

   Selection will be based on several criteria, including financial need, academic or research capability, language readiness, clarity of motivation for studying in Korea, the feasibility of the academic plan, and the specificity of future career goals. The scholarship amount is 4.8 million Korean won per semester for both undergraduate and graduate students. Funding covers up to eight semesters for undergraduates, four semesters for master’s students, six semesters for doctoral students, and eight semesters for integrated programs. Extended semesters are not supported.

   Required documents are listed on page 1 of the attached application form. Original documents must be submitted unless a certified copy is necessary. Graduate applicants must submit a recommendation letter from their academic advisor. Only one student will be selected, and the Foundation may choose not to select any candidate if no suitable applicant is found.

   Applications must be submitted by January 5th, (Monday), 2026. First-round results will be announced on February 2nd, (Monday), 2026, followed by in-person interviews from February 23rd, (Monday), 2026 to February 25th, (Wednesday), 2026, at the Foundation Office near Seoul Station. Final results will be announced on March 3rd, (Tuesday), 2026, and scholarship payments will begin in mid-March.
