[Notice] 2025 Dongbu Short-form Video Contest
The Dongbu Foreign Resident Center hosts the “Short form Contest” under the theme of Mutual Cultural Exchange, Respect, and Inclusion. Entries must be vertical short-form videos lasting one to two minutes, with a minimum resolution of 1080p. The background should clearly indicate that the video was filmed in Korea. All entries are required to include Korean subtitles, either for spoken dialogue or as descriptive text. In addition, each video file must contain a thumbnail image.
The submission period runs until October 12th (Sunday), 2025. The contest is open to all youths (aged 19 to 39 as of the submission date) residing in the Republic of Korea, including both Korean natives and foreign residents. Applications are welcome from individuals and teams. Notably, teams composed of both Korean and foreign members will receive bonus points during evaluation. However, there is no age restriction for foreign residents applying in other designated categories.
To enter, participants must send an email to office@dfrc.or.kr with the following attachments: an application form, a personally identifiable Information (PII), a signed pledge, and the original video file.
A distinguished panel of judges will select winners for a range of prestigious awards. The top honor is the Seoul Mayor's award, which includes one grand prize of 500,000 KRW and two best awards of 200,000 KRW each. Additional honors include the Open Cyber University of Korea president’s award, the Ililsihoil(non-profit organization) award, and the director’s award from the Dongbu Foreign Resident Center. These will be presented to three excellence award winners (100,000 KRW each) and six encouragement award winners (50,000 KRW each).
Award-nominated works will be broadcast on the center's official social media channels and YouTube, and public online engagement will be factored into the final evaluation. Winners will be individually notified on October 26th (Sunday), 2025 although this date is subject to change. All award recipients are required to attend the "2025 International Day for Tolerance Commemoration Event" at Seoul City Hall on November 12th (Wednesday), 2025.

Please note the following terms and conditions. All submitted videos must be original creations produced by the participant, and any entry may be disqualified if found to contain plagiarism or the unauthorized use of copyrighted materials. By submitting an entry, participants agree that their videos may be used by the Dongbu Foreign Resident Center for promotional purposes and content creation. Furthermore, judging will be conducted based on the internal criteria of the center, and all decisions made by the judges cannot be appealed. Finally, the copyright for all entries will belong to the Dongbu Foreign Resident Center.
