[Notice] 2025-2 Semester International Students Language Excellence Scholarship Application Guide
Dongguk University offers the “Language Excellence Scholarship” to international students with outstanding language proficiency who enrolled between the 2016-1 semester and the 2025-1 semester. The scholarship amount varies depending on the year of admission and the applicant’s language test level. Eligible students check the criteria and submit their applications within the designated period.
For students admitted between 2016 and 2017, those who have achieved TOPIK Level 4 within the valid period are eligible to receive 300,000 Korean won. Students with TOPIK Level 5 or Level 6 are eligible to receive 500,000 Korean won. Applicants who are undergraduate students admitted through the international admission track must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 from the previous semester and must have earned at least 15 credits. Students who have exceeded the normal study period or students on leave of absence are excluded. The scholarship can be awarded without any limit on the number of times.
For students admitted between 2018 and 2022, those with TOPIK Level 5 are eligible to receive 500,000 Korean won, and those with TOPIK Level 6 are eligible to receive 700,000 Korean won. Applicants must meet the same requirements regarding GPA, credit completion, and regular enrollment; those exceeding the standard study period or on leave of absence are not eligible. The scholarship can be awarded a maximum of two times.
For students admitted from 2023 onward, the scholarship amounts are 200,000 Korean won for TOPIK Level 4, 400,000 Korean won for TOPIK Level 5, and 600,000 Korean won for TOPIK Level 6. Applicants must meet the same requirements regarding GPA, credit completion, and regular enrollment; those exceeding the standard study period or on leave of absence are not eligible. The scholarship can be awarded a maximum of two times.
All applicants must be regular semester students from the 2nd semester after admission.
Tuition fees for 2025 vary by college. Humanities and Social Sciences students pay 4,272,000 Korean won, Natural Sciences students pay 4,955,000 Korean won, and Engineering and Arts students pay 5,638,000 Korean won. This scholarship cannot be combined with government-sponsored or on-campus scholarships. Returning students’ eligibility will be based on the semester before their leave of absence. Students admitted for the 2025-2 semester academic year can apply starting from the 2026-1 semester.
The application period is from September 18th (Thursday), 2025, at 10 A.M. to September 30th (Tuesday), 2025, at 5 P.M. Late submissions will not be accepted. Applications must be submitted through nDRIMS and on-site applications are not allowed. Applicants should navigate to nDRIMS, then go to Academic Information, Scholarship, Language Excellence Scholarship for international students, and apply for Language Excellence Scholarship. The attached manual provides detailed instructions. Applicants should ensure their account information is accurate for scholarship deposits.
When uploading language test scores, only JPG files are accepted. PDF files will not be recognized. Uploaded files must have legible text, the file name must be in English or Korean (Chinese are not allowed in file name), and make sure the verification code on the top right of the score report is fully visible.
The scholarship will be paid in December 2025. Only language test scores that are valid during the application period will be recognized. Applicants must submit their application within the application period to be eligible for the scholarship; If you do not apply, the scholarship will not be awarded. Even if you have previously submitted your language test scores, you must apply again to receive the scholarship. Scholarships will be deposited into the bank account registered in nDRIMS, so account registration is mandatory. This scholarship cannot be received concurrently with other on-campus scholarships, except for the international student scholarship, such as endowment scholarships or exchange student scholarships. Additionally, students cannot apply during the 2nd semester of an exchange program or the 1st semester after returning from an exchange program.
