[Notice] Alternative Korean Language Options for Global Talent Track Students
Including TOPIK Level 4 Preparation Classes
Alternative programs are now being offered for students enrolled in the Global Talent Track who have not yet met the Korean language proficiency requirements. To complete the track, students must earn 16 credits from designated general education courses and acquire TOPIK level 4 or an equivalent qualification, either through the Korean Language Center’s programs or by passing a level test. Students who already hold a TOPIK level 4 certificate are allowed to take major courses even before completing the required 16 credits.
For those who have not obtained TOPIK level 4, there are two substitute options available. The first option is to complete the Level 4 course in the Korean Language Center’s regular intensive program. The summer session for this program runs from June 16th to August 28th, 2025, and students will receive a 50% discount on tuition. The second option is to pass the Korean language level test administered by the Global Student Team. This in-person test will be held on Thursday, July 10th, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. in the Computer Lab C1 of Dahyang Hall. Students must arrive by 1:30 P.M. with valid identification. To be eligible for this test, students are required to attend both sessions of the TOPIK level 4 preparation class, which will be held on July 7th (Monday) and July 9th (Wednesday), from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. in the International Lounge on the 6th floor of Hyehwa Hall. The level test is free of charge.
It is important to note that although these alternative programs allow students to proceed with major course registration, they do not fulfill graduation language requirements. Students who meet the language standard through the Korean Language Center or the level test must still complete 16 credits of general education courses to officially fulfill the track requirements.
Applications for the Korean language level test must be submitted between June 19 and July 2th, 2025, through Moaform at the following link: https://moaform.com/q/Kj4ewM.
For reference, course registration for the Fall 2025 semester will take place from August 4th to August 8th, with the semester beginning on September 1st. The course add/drop period is scheduled for September 2nd to September 7th.
