[467 Round-up] Celebrating the Memorable 2025 Entrance Ceremony at Dongguk University
Dongguk University held the “2025 Entrance ceremony” on Thursday, February 20th, 2025, at the Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul. The ceremony featured various events for new students. Alumni from the class of 1965 established a bond with the incoming class of 2025, presenting them with congratulatory gifts and messages. Dongguk University also provided commemorative gifts to freshmen, including school-themed scarves and badges, to the new students attending the event as a symbol of welcome and school spirit. The ceremony also featured a badge-pinning event, club performances, and a musical by the Department of Theater, creating an engaging space for students to connect.
Monk Don Kwan, the chairman of Dongguk University, conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to the new students, saying, “I extend my congratulations to all of you who have reached this point through long years of effort and perseverance.” He urged them to embrace the teachings of Buddha and to carry the pride of being a member of Dongguk University as they advance confidently on their journey.
In his welcome address, Yoon Jae-woong, the university president, stated, “You are now members of the Dongguk community, which has a diverse history of 119 years.” He encouraged the new students to beautify the campus with their unique qualities, saying, “I hope each of you will add your distinct fragrance, elegance, and colors to the entire Dongguk campus.”
