[Notice] 30th Korean Writing Contest for Foreigners

   The 30th Korean Writing Contest for international students will be held on October 8th, 2024, at the Korean Language Institute of Yonsei University's Language Research and Education Center. This event aims to promote the excellence of Hangul and the spirit of its creation by King Sejong, as well as to enhance understanding of Korean culture among foreign Korean language learners. It will be held in the categories of essay and poetry.

   Eligibility to participate includes foreign residents in Korea with a stay of up to 8 years, or overseas Koreans with a stay of up to 5 years, who are at least 17 years old and have not received any awards for literary works in the past three years. Applications can be submitted from September 13th to September 29th, and the awards ceremony will take place on October 30th.

   The award categories include Grand Prize, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and various special awards. On the contest day, writing paper and pens will be provided, along with snacks for the participants.

Interested interantional students are encouraged to participate.
